About Me

Hello, my name is Noah and I am currently a 2nd year student studying Material Science Engineering at the University of Toronto. I am interested in pursuing a job in the Automotive Engineering Industry.

My interest of engineering started from a young age. From being obsessed with the Titanic, I have always been interested in how things are designed and implemented into real life. By studying the ship’s design plans online, I created a fully painted model out of Titanic out of wood. I also studied the ship’s big steam engines to see how they worked and made mock models of those as well. I made them to become fully functional steam engines.

In high school, I loved my automotive class, where I could work on cars for free. I picked up persistence and problem-solving skills, as not everything went easily. The auto shop car we had was always in such bad condition, that there was never a day that you couldn’t find a new bolt stripped or other problems. I learned to use a die tool to add new threads to the stripped bolts, so we could reuse them. I would always question if there was a way to make the bolts less prone to stripping.

For my Capstone Project, I bought a project car (1995 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am), and got it back to being road worthy. I welded in a new floor plan due to rust, overhauled the entire suspension and brakes system, to replacing the timing chain and adjusting the timing of the engine to make sure the engine ran flawlessly.

Now I am in the FSAE University of Toronto Formula Racing Team (UTFR), in the Suspension section where I am actively learning to create, test, and validate new suspension components needed for a successful and improved suspension set up.
